Arts Based Self-Esteem
Ages 6 - 17
Youth faced with acute or chronic illnesses often contend with a range of emotional challenges. Lengthy hospitalizations can lead to feelings of social isolation, while pain or medically-related limitations can cause severe anxiety, depression and poor self-esteem. Young people in economically challenged communities face a myriad of emotional and social stressors.
To help young people cope with the many psychosocial challenges that can accompany illness, chronic medical conditions, and the challenges of economic insecurity, The Art of Elysium offers a selection of arts-based support programs and resources. These programs focus on providing youth with positive psychosocial skills to cope with social, emotional, behavioral and/or physical challenges that set them apart from their peers.
The Art of Elysium offers self-esteem programming in each of our four major disciplines for these work- shops.
